What treasures do you have in your personal collections? Are they being cared for in a way that improves their longevity?
Did you know that VHS tape degrades up to 20% every 10-25 years?
Or that the chemicals in most cardboard or plastic boxes can contribute to the deterioration of your photographs or documents?
That certain heirloom items benefit more from use rather than careful storage and display?
Our second heritage workshop will focus on caring for your personal collections. We will cover how to clean and store your items, where to purchase materials that will help you best care for your items, and the importance of digitizing archival items. Properly caring for your collections ensures that they will last long into the future! Get a head start by reading our blog post about the 10 agents of deterioration.
If there is a heritage topic that you want to learn more about let us know! We may be able to include it later in the year.
Please RSVP via [email protected] or 403-782-3933. The suggested minimum donation for the workshop is $5.
