Heritage Workshop | Heritage and Rural Properties

March 22 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm MDT

After the excitement of the Stones and Bones event we hosted in 2023 we realized that the rural part of our community is looking for resources to help them understand the heritage features found on their land! Our heritage is not confined to urban hubs and rural properties can be important cultural landscapes full of human and natural history.

Our third heritage workshop will be all about how heritage applies to rural property owners. This workshop will go over how to report (and the importance of reporting) any archaeological or paleontological finds, how important it can be to document both the human and natural history found on rural properties and what resources are available to help learn about the history of a property. Learn more about our natural history in the area with our virtual exhibit Blueberries for Everyone in which we explored some of the natural history that has been lost in our county.

If there is a heritage topic that you want to learn more about let us know! We may be able to include it later in the year.

Please RSVP via [email protected] or 403-782-3933. The suggested minimum donation for the workshop is $5.
