
The Lacombe & District Historical Society invites you to join us for Winter Story Time outside the Flatiron Building Museum for an evening of Indigenous stories, ceremonies, and community with Indigenous Knowledge Keepers from Brown Bear Woman Events.
Winter Story Time
Listen to stories while inside a traditional tipi gazing at the Milky Way under the dark of a new moon, from Indigenous Knowledge Keepers. Alongside the stars, learn Indigenous traditions, protocols, art, and stories in any of the tipis during the day.
Event Timeline:
November 24th, 2022 at Flatiron Building Museum (5005-50th Ave, Lacombe)
4:00 PM MST – fire pits lit; tipi opening; Flatiron Building Christmas of Yore Market opens
4:30 PM MST – protocols, introductions, and first storytelling occurs
6:00 PM MST – bannock making, hot cider, hot chocolate served; for the community to find their spots along the Parade route
6:30 PM MST – Parade comes by the front of Flatiron Building Museum & bleachers
7:00 PM MST – storytelling continues
8:00 PM MST – event wrap up
Admission is free, or with a food bank donation
This event will happen before and after the Light Up The Night Parade on November 24th, 2022.
