Rediscover Lacombe’s History with our weekly walking tours.
Lacombe Historic Downtown Walking Tours themes rotate between Historic Downtown Building Tours, Mural Tours, True Crime, and more (attendees can pick the tour theme upon arrival).
Tours are family-friendly and take roughly 45-60 minutes to complete, and cover 0.5kms-2kms depending on participants’ abilities. Audio devices are also available for participants.
On our Lacombe Historic Downtown Walking Tours, we use the backdrop of Lacombe’s famous art murals and historic downtown to explore what life was like in the early days of this dusty town, discovering the stories of its first doctors, businessmen, and politicians.
In our True Crime tours, we will delve into the tragedies of the many fires that struck the town, not all of which were caused naturally, and hear the tales of murder, theft, the connection a Lacombian has to a famous gang, and a blacksmith kidnapped in a case that shocked the Province.
We will also discover the many acts of kindness and bravery, both big and small, which shaped the identity of Lacombe.
Tours are run by Lacombe & District Historical Society staff and volunteers and tickets are a Pay What You Can/By-Donation basis.
Lacombe Historic Downtown Walking Tours meets every Friday all summer long at the Michener House Museum & Gardens at 6pm!
