DESCRIPTION:The Lacombe Museum is bringing back our Heritage Workshop Series! The heritage workshop series aims to arm the public with the information and resources required to critically think about heritage in their personal endeavors. \nEarly Lacombe (and Ben Cameron) will be part history lecture\, part discussion about how important photographs are in research conducted at the Lacombe Museum. Naturally\, as Ben Cameron is our most important source for photographs of early Lacombe many of the photographs chosen for this workshop will be the work of Mr. Cameron. The presentation in this workshop will look at how photographic evidence of early Lacombe is often our best resource for tracking the history of developments and businesses in the city. We will also cover some of the events or landmarks of Lacombe that help us date photographs as well as some of the recent breakthroughs staff have celebrated concerning research and photographs. \nThis workshop is for those who love Lacombe history\, those who want to learn more about Lacombe history\, and super sleuths interested in solving photographic mysteries. \nAs this workshop is more of a history lecture participants do not need to bring anything\, though photo show and tell won’t be discouraged! \n  \n  \nPlease RSVP to this workshop via bookings@lacombemuseum.com or 403-782-3933. \nThe recommended minimum donation for attending heritage workshops is $5/person. \nAfter-hours access to the Flatiron Building Museum can be found on 49c Avenue on the south side of the building. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:The Lacombe Museum is bringing back our Heritage Workshop Series! The heritage workshop series aims to arm the public with the information and resources required to critically think about heritage in their personal endeavors. \nHeritage and Rural Properties will discuss what rural property owners can do about heritage features located on their properties. The presentation in this workshop will discuss different types of heritage features\, the importance of recording as much information as possible about heritage features\, how to research your property\, options for reporting archaeological or paleontological finds\, and the Lacombe Museum Rural Heritage Reporting program. \nThe resources discussed will be useful for those interested in rural history\, and those who own or know someone who owns property in Lacombe County which contains heritage features. DESCRIPTION:While many members of our community may be familiar with the beautiful black-and-white photographs of Ben Cameron Lacombe’s photographic legacy extends far beyond him. Lacombe Through the Lens The Photographic Documentarians of Lacombeaims to not only name all of the men associated with the Lacombe Photo Studio\, but also to highlight photographers who have continued the legacy of Lacombe’s so-called “pioneer photographers” to today. Photographs displayed in the exhibit will show over 125 years of the development of Lacombe. \nFeatured photographers include: \n\nJ.A.
